五中，引經。師喻如來，弟子喻學者；脚喻兩乘，按摩喻尋究。其下，喻學大毀小；彼下，喻學小毀大。譬下，法合。可解。《方等》，即大乘之通名。以下，顯驗。

In the fifth, it cites a sūtra. The master exemplifies the Tathāgata; the disciple exemplifies the student; the feet exemplify the two vehicles; and massaging exemplifies investigating thoroughly. Below, 'The one' exemplifies studying the great while disparaging the small; below, 'The other' exemplifies studying the small while disparaging the great. Below, 'Just as' is the application of the simile to the doctrine. It is easily understood. *Vaipulya* is the general name for the Mahāyāna. Below, it reveals the verification.
