In the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya, the text of the note refers precisely to the circumstances in the vinaya where Ānanda warmed rice for the Buddha. "Curd, ghee, etc." means that before midday one receives curd, sugarcane, or hemp seeds, and if after midday one wishes to make ghee, honey, or oil, one must add the mental noting procedure, saying: "Pure substances are produced within this; I shall receive them as seven-day medicine." (The non-permitted time is also the same.) When transformed and prepared after midday, none lose reception.
