次科，《僧祇》初簡對露。若下，次明難開。護根謂意根也。

The second section: the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya first selects the face-to-face disclosure. From "if..." onward, it next clarifies exemptions due to difficulties. "Guarding the sense-faculty" refers to the mental faculty.
