In the third [part], first pointing to worldly calendars. "Six or seven schools": this was probably what the author of the Transactions Manual saw, but it is not clear who composed them. "One school": the ancient records also mostly make erroneous identifications, but these are mere conjectures without any basis, so they are not determined here. "Obtaining the precepts when incomplete" refers to the Daśādhyāya-vinaya: if one's age is not full twenty, and one thinks oneself incomplete, or forgets and does not know, when the saṃgha asks whether it is full, if one answers "full", one obtains the precepts; if one answers "not full", one does not obtain them. Furthermore, as previously cited from the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya and the Mātṛkā-śāstra, through the superior Dharma one obtains the precepts without waiting for the age to be complete. Pointing to the Precept Commentary: that text is very extensive, and without studying it one cannot know it.
