三中。本由懺易，故使犯數；提吉多犯，舉以為況，故云如波逸提等。

In the third: because repentance was originally easy, offenses were committed repeatedly; pāyattika and duṣkṛta offenses are committed often and are adduced by way of analogy, hence it says "like pāyattika, and so forth".
