The third part also has six points: first, recounting ignorance of the teaching. From 'Or' onward, it lists improper marks. The six kinds divide naturally. 'Any offense whatsoever' means that because one does not know what was committed, one broadly says that whatever falls into this category is thereby confessed. 'Or bewildered and forgetting' means doubting and not recognizing, or directly reciting that one is bewildered and has forgotten to confess. From 'As follows' onward, the conclusion explains: either an offense of disobeying the teaching, or unlearned ignorance, hence it says 'offenses cannot be escaped'. From 'Therefore' onward, it encourages one to comply with the Dharma. A water mirror is clear and bright, yet this surpasses it, hence it says 'exceeds'. 'That person' is the one able to confess; 'this person' is the one receiving the confession. From 'Why' onward, it questions and explains the reason. The three retributions are present retribution, retribution in the next life, and retribution in subsequent lives. From 'The remainder' onward points to the broader texts.
