2.2178

三中。惡罵犯提。彼人即所罵，罵者即能罵。謂別求對首，於屍所行悔，非對死人懺也。天道門不閉者，由與解讎，不障善道。彼我俱益，故引勉之。

In the third: malicious cursing incurs a pāyattika. "That person" is the one cursed; "the curser" is the one able to curse. It means seeking another individual to perform repentance before the corpse, not repenting facing the dead person. "The gate of the heavenly path is not closed" because, through resolving enmity with him, the good destinies are not obstructed. Both that person and oneself benefit, hence it is cited to encourage it.
