答中，先約隨行，明不防現在，初直定無非。若無等者，釋無非所以。上二句顯成過非，下二句開即屬未非。然下，次望受體，說防過未，初明防未起非。既下，次明防過去非。

In the answer: first, based on subsequent practice, it clarifies not preventing the present, directly determining at first that there is no wrongdoing. "If there were none..." and so on explains the reason why there is no wrongdoing. The upper two lines reveal that it becomes past wrongdoing, and the lower two lines state that opening [to it] belongs to future wrongdoing. Below "However," next viewed from the reception-essence, it speaks of preventing past and future; first, it explains preventing wrongdoing that has not yet arisen. Below "Since," it next explains preventing past wrongdoing.
