次科，初重敘諫事，生起下文。不下，正明惡行必廣之意。網生，謂如網目，喻其多也。辨相，即下所引《四分》等文是也。開緣即下不犯文。直略者，去餘廣相也。行務，即上通行時要也。裨輔，謂補助也。神即心識，用謂解能。

The next section first recounts the matter of admonition again to introduce the text below. From "Not..." downward directly explains the meaning of why evil practices must be extensive. "Arising like a net" means like the meshes of a net, an analogy for their multiplicity. "Distinguishing the marks" refers to the texts of the Dharmaguptaka-vinaya and so forth cited below. "Conditions for exception" refers to the non-offense text below. "Directly abbreviating" means omitting the other extensive marks. "Practical duties" refers to what is essential when in common practice above. "Assisting" means supporting and aiding. "Spirit" is the mind-consciousness; "application" means understanding and capability.
