第三。（佛在舍衛但三衣比丘僧伽梨故壞，十日不辨，聽畜長，為滿足故；六群取同衣不足者寄人間遊行，因制。）名中。月即開之時限，望謂希其滿足。

Third [precept]. (When the Buddha was in Śrāvastī, a bhikṣu having only three robes had his saṅghāṭī wear out, and unable to manage it in ten days, was permitted to keep an extra robe to complete it; the ṣaḍvargikas, taking pieces of matching cloth that were insufficient, deposited them among laypeople and wandered about, which led to the prohibition.) In the name: "month" is the time limit of the exception; "expectation" refers to hoping for its completion.
