Under conditions: The first, the *Dharmaguptaka-vinaya*. Setting aside various base items, the Commentary says: "Now if it generates criticism, why talk of noble or base? Carrying fine down and the like also violates deportment (carrying fine down also has a text of non-offense); it is only because the cause lay in wool that outside the prohibition an exception was made." (According to this, carrying base items incurs a duṣkṛta; what is cited below from the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya* shows this.) *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya*: setting aside other animals. The character "otter" (ta) is an error in phonetic reading; the Vinaya root text has ju, the name of a beast resembling a wolf and red. "Completed utensil": the Commentary says: "This refers to the marks of a robe." *Mahīśāsaka-vinaya*: merely says stuffing a mattress; one should be permitted to carry it while traveling.
