不犯中，上之二種，破近習惡人。世有濫濁之僧，反為眾首，俗愚無識，妄相親厚；護法利他，故破無犯；惡伴同之。和尚等者，次破共謀惡事。無義利者，謂欲共議侵壞僧塔；律云：數數語，方便欲作是也。破下，總結。律文更列壞僧、助壞僧、非法、非律羯磨等。

Under non-violations: the upper two types concern breaking up familiarity with evil people. There are corrupt and impure monks in the world who on the contrary serve as leaders of the assembly, while the foolish laypeople, lacking discernment, falsely grow intimate with them; to protect the Dharma and benefit others, causing a rupture incurs no violation; the same applies to evil companions. "Preceptor, etc." next concerns breaking up conspiracies to commit evil deeds. "Without benefit" refers to intending to conspire to encroach upon or destroy a saṅgha stūpa; the Vinaya says: "speaking repeatedly, making preparatory efforts to do so, this is it." Below "breaking," it concludes generally. The Vinaya text further lists breaking the saṅgha, assisting in breaking the saṅgha, and un-Dharmic and non-Vinaya karmas, etc.
