三中，《僧祇》，初明緣開。不下，示犯。過三夜者，即第四夜初。犯竟下，明未懺疊犯。轉長罪，謂展轉增犯。夜犯別結，故不開二夜。據開三夜，但第三夜將入犯位，不為開故。

In the third part, the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya first clarifies exceptions due to circumstances. Below "not," it indicates the violation. "Exceeding three nights" refers to the beginning of the fourth night. Below "after committing," it clarifies compounding violations before deśanā. "Offenses growing incrementally" refers to accumulating more and more violations. Night violations are established separately, so two nights are not permitted. In terms of permitting three nights, because the third night is about to enter the status of violation, it is not considered an exception.
