釋五中，《五分》，初明犯墮。並以事異而犯同，故三皆言亦。初見不舉，雖非自敷，不惜護故；尼寺犯者，皆僧物故；借俗犯者，恐損失故。若下，明犯輕。二緣，俱非心過，但情慢故吉。

In explaining the five, in the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya, it first explains incurring a pāyattika. Because the matters differ but the offense is the same, all three say 'likewise'. Seeing it and not putting it away first: although it was not spread by oneself, it is because one failed to cherish and protect it; committing it in a nunnery is because all of it is sangha property; committing it by lending it to laypeople is out of fear of loss and damage. Under 'If...', it explains incurring light offenses. In both conditions, neither is an offense of intention, but merely due to negligence of sentiment, hence a duṣkṛta.
