3.104

四中，初科三段；《僧祇》明增量，初示增法。二三重者，並隨本物。對頭謂兩緣相鬪。下制限量，止得一尺。互過減者，長過廣減，廣過長減，俱過可知，俱減無過。諸下，通指餘部增法皆同。

In [item] four, the first subsection has three passages. The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya clarifies increasing the measurement, first showing the method of increasing. "Two or three layers" both follow the original material. "Matching ends" means the two borders meet edge to edge. Below, it restricts the limit: one can only obtain one foot. "Reciprocally exceeding and reducing": exceeding in length and reducing in width, or exceeding in width and reducing in length; both exceeding can be understood, while both reducing entails no fault. From "Various..." downward, it generally points out that the methods of increasing in the other divisions are all identical.
