次約義翻，引經中。具云《慧上菩薩問大善權經》，有二卷，今引下卷。五條云中著者，最在內故；七條上者，五條上故。問：伽梨最上，何不名者？答：若據二衣，並五條上；但伽梨稀用，從別標名。

Next, regarding the translation according to meaning, in citing the sūtras: Fully named the Sūtra of Bodhisattva Jñānottara's Questions on Great Skillful Means, it has two fascicles; here the lower fascicle is cited. That the five-strip [robe] is said to be "worn in the middle" is because it is innermost. That the seven-strip [robe] is "upper" is because it is above the five-strip [robe]. Question: The saṃghāṭī is the highest of all; why is it not so named? Answer: If considered with respect to the [other] two robes, both are above the five-strip [robe]; however, since the saṃghāṭī is used rarely, its name is marked based on its specific [characteristic].
