次科，初敘諸師處斷。指南者，古有作指南車，亦名司南，以示迷方者。但下，示各執所以。六師持律，尋序可見。至下，點古未詳。臨下，示今要旨。

In the next section, it first recounts the adjudications of various masters. A "south-pointing guide" refers to the south-pointing chariot constructed in antiquity, also called a south-director, used to show those who have lost their way. "Only below" shows the reason for their respective clingings. The six masters upholding the Vinaya can be seen by consulting the preface. "Coming to below" points out what ancients did not scrutinize. "Approaching below" shows the present essential purport.
