《五百問》。借人物者，謂以物借他。言得罪者，彼云：一切不得自取犯吉。白眾，眾還得取，眾不還犯吉（結僧罪也）。若眾不與，強取犯墮。故云自他俱犯也。

The Pañcaśatī-paripṛcchā. 'Borrowing items from people' means using items to lend to others. Saying 'incurs an offense', it says: in all cases one must not take them oneself, [or one] incurs a duṣkṛta. Announcing to the assembly, if the assembly returns them, one may take them; if the assembly does not return them, [the assembly] incurs a duṣkṛta (the saṃgha's offense is determined). If the assembly does not give them and one forcibly takes them, one incurs a pāyattika. Therefore it says both oneself and others commit an offense.
