Within the second [heading], first it raises the question. From "Hand..." onward, it explains the general application, dividing the meaning into three: first it explains that the hand applies generally. Next it explains that the mouth is restricted. That timed medicine also has [reception by] mouth means that when there is a circumstance, reception by mouth is added to the three receptions. Timed medicine has two restrictions: first, hand and mouth are mutually restricted; second, both are restricted to before noon. The remaining three can be seen. In the Daśādhyāya-vinaya, first it shows the circumstantial exception. Because it is not the proper time, it says "timed portion". From "Non-..." onward, it singles out the substance of the medicine. In mentioning "overnight", the phrasing includes both leftovers and keeping indoors.
