三中五過，初過分二，初正明，二問答。正明又三，初句標過。若下，示相。僧下，引證。問答中，由未犯長，制受不成，故須問決；答中，前釋不成，後簡異藥。

In the third [part], regarding the five faults: the first fault has two [parts]: first, directly explaining; second, question and answer. Directly explaining also has three: the first clause marks the fault; from "If..." downward, it indicates the marks; from "The Saṃgha..." downward, it cites proof. In the question and answer: because having not yet violated [the rule against] excess, the prohibition renders the reception invalid, thus a question is needed to resolve it; in the answer, the former explains the invalidity, and the latter distinguishes different medicines.
