3.550

《母論》。利根謂攝心成熟者，故能隨事觀察，不容遺忘；鈍根反此，非力分故。今多食前作觀，但從鈍法，不妨智士自通始終。

The Matṛkā: Sharp faculties refer to those whose concentration of mind is mature; therefore, they can contemplate in accordance with whatever comes along and do not let it slip from memory. Dull faculties are the opposite of this, because it is beyond the capacity of their power. Today, contemplating mostly occurs before eating, which merely follows the dull method; this does not preclude wise practitioners from naturally understanding it through from start to finish.
