In the rebuke of errors, it first shows the errors. Seating oneself immediately shows disrespect to the holy one. Being on the ground or directly in front of the Buddha are both improper places. 'Cramped and small' means meager and careless. According to the Bhikṣuṇī Manual, the seat must not exceed one foot six inches in height; nor may one use the utensils of the permanent saṃgha for offerings, out of safeguarding the precepts identically to ordinary monks; and if there are dakṣiṇā gifts, they are allocated for the holy monk's use. (Following this, since they have no use in a lay residence, they should be entrusted to the invited monastery for the holy monk's use.) Furthermore, one merely sets up an empty seat and must not place an image upon it, and so forth. From 'Like...' onward, it directly rebukes them. 'Not seeing that it is acceptable' is because, being ignorant of the Dharma, they are unfit for this responsibility. 'Superior conditions' refers to the Buddha and the holy saṃgha. Damaging oneself and damaging others, conferring upon them the title 'destroyers of the Dharma' is deeply fitting. Today, those who destroy the Dharma are everywhere, and all deserve this label.
