制意中。初二句示出家超世，無繫之人，故如賓也。次二句明遊方漂泊，隨處暫止；即以寺字，況於逆旅。謂同迎客之舍，既無定止，義當迎待，故云頗存於此。故下，顯制。曲即委備。云云，生起下文。

In the intent behind the institution: the first two lines show that the renunciant transcends the world as an unattached person, and is therefore like a visitor. The next two lines explain wandering without a fixed abode, stopping temporarily according to circumstances; thus the term 'temple' (si) is compared to an inn, meaning that it is like a lodge that receives guests; since there is no permanent residence, it is fitting in principle to receive and host them; hence it is said, 'this meaning is largely preserved here.' 'Therefore...' onwards reveals the institution: 'detailed' means comprehensive and complete. 'And so on' introduces the subsequent text.
