3.86

六中，《五分》，前明反著，初緣起。世尊下，立制。若出下，開緣。若衣下，後明倒著。《四分》，大同。故略不引。

In the sixth [part], the *Mahīśāsaka-vinaya* first clarifies wearing it inside out: first the origin. From 'The World-Honored One' onward, it establishes the regulation. From 'If going out' onward, it gives the conditions of exception. From 'If the robe' onward, it next clarifies wearing it upside down. The *Dharmaguptaka-vinaya* is largely identical, and so is omitted and not cited.
