禪師中。梵云禪那，此云思惟修；故知禪者，唯是修心，故貶多說。今之參禪，亦務多說；事持言句，忘本久矣。

Under 'Meditation Masters': In Sanskrit it is dhyāna; here translated as 'cultivation through contemplation.' Thus we know that meditation is solely the cultivation of the mind; therefore excessive talking is disparaged. Nowadays, those who participate in meditation also strive to talk excessively, upholding verbal phrases as their practice, having long forgotten the root.
