二攝衣界中。持衣約處以明離護，處雖多種，總歸有二。一者依自然護衣，本宗他部共十五相，攝處斯盡；如前三十離衣戒辨。二依作法攝衣，唯有一種，即今所明。古今廢立，委在《業疏．諸界篇》中；今此直示正義。指如別疏，《義鈔》無文。

Under the second [section], "The Boundary for Retaining Robes": Keeping robes is clarified with reference to location in terms of separation and protection. Although locations are of many kinds, generally they come down to two. The first is protecting robes relying on nature; the fifteen marks shared by this school and other divisions encompass these locations exhaustively, as analyzed before under the thirty offenses of separation from robes. The second is retaining robes relying on a formal act; there is only one kind, which is precisely what is clarified here. The establishments and abrogations of past and present are detailed in the Karma Commentary, "Chapter on the Boundaries"; here the correct doctrine is directly indicated. Referring to the separate commentary, the Manual of Meaning contains no text.
