3.98

解法。注中，初引本律，次第解者。疏云：法儀倫式，前後有據，不可亂也。以結時先僧次衣後食，解則反之為次。後引《十誦》明隨失者。疏云：衣法假本，本失末亡；而非正則，亂倫獲罪。（倫即次也，亂次犯吉。）

Under "Method of Rescinding": in the note, it first cites this Vinaya regarding rescinding in sequence. The commentary says: For formal ceremonies and proper orders, before and after have their basis and must not be disrupted. Because when demarcating, first is the Sangha, next is robes, and then food; in rescinding, it is reversed as the sequence. Later, citing the Daśādhyāya-vinaya to clarify loss following [the root], the commentary says: The robe-method borrows from the root; if the root is lost, the branches perish; but if it is not the standard rule, disrupting the order incurs an offense. ("Order" means sequence; disrupting the sequence violates by committing a duṣkṛta.)
