In the next section, first one is mindful of the Triratna. The Buddha and the saṃgha are able to awaken: although cause and effect are distinct, the Way they awaken to is identical; hence it says "one substance." The Way is the source of the fruit of all Buddhas and the fundamental mind of sentient beings: ultimate realization is called "Buddha," and beginning to learn is called "saṃgha." The saṃgha presently studies the Dharma and will ultimately reach the Buddha-fruit. If one treats the saṃgha like this, how could one allow any slight or insult? In the commentary, first teaching mindfulness of the saṃgha means the Triratna is complete. From "Now..." downward, next it causes one to be mindful of oneself as not different from the saṃgha: if one should still honor oneself, how would one dare disrespect others? From "Lowering..." downward, next one leaves behind various faults. The first two lines cast away arrogance, the next two lines stop killing and harming, and the last line avoids contact with filth. All of these use physical actions to express the Dharma, as revealed in the commentary. From "Ought to..." downward, third is cultivating pure blessings. The outward facing is also as stated in the commentary.
