彼比丘看無難、無妨處已，到僧中，脫革屣，偏露右肩，禮上座足，右膝著地，合掌白言：「大德僧聽！某甲比丘自乞作屋，無主，自為己。我今從眾僧乞知無難處、無妨處。」如是再三也。

That bhikṣu, having inspected a site that is free of dangers and obstacles, goes into the Saṃgha, takes off his leather sandals, bares his right shoulder, bows down at the feet of the senior monk, kneels on his right knee, and with palms joined says: ‘May the Venerable Saṃgha listen! I, bhikṣu so-and-so, am begging to build a hut for myself that is ownerless and made for myself. I now ask the Saṃgha to acknowledge a site free of dangers and obstacles.’ Thus he asks a second and a third time.
