時，二部僧得衣共分，二部錯得，佛言：「聽互貿衣。」言「貿易」者：以衣貿衣，若非衣；或以非衣貿衣，若鍼，若筒，若刀，若線，若小段物，乃至一丸藥貿衣者是。

(At that time, the two assemblies of the Saṃgha obtained robes and divided them together; the two assemblies received each other's by mistake. The Buddha said: "I permit bartering robes with one another." To "barter" means: bartering a robe for a robe, or for a non-robe; or bartering a non-robe for a robe, such as a needle, a tube, a knife, thread, a small scrap of cloth, or even bartering a single pill of medicine for a robe.)
