自作、教他、為他，成犯如上。尼犯吉羅。不犯者：裁取故者揲新者上；若彼自無，更作新者；若他為作；若得成者；若純故者——並不犯。

Making it himself, instructing another, or making it for another, the completion of the offense is as above. A bhikṣuṇī incurs a duṣkṛta. Non-offenses: if he cuts from the old one and patches it onto the new one; if he himself has none and makes a new one; if another makes it for him; if he obtains one already completed; if it is made purely of old material—in all such cases there is no offense.
