佛在迦維羅衛。六群比丘取羊毛使尼浣、染、擗之。時，姨母尼為染毛故，污色在手，住佛所，禮足而立。佛知故問，訶而制戒。

The Buddha was in Kapilavastu. The group of six bhikṣus took sheep's wool and had a bhikṣuṇī wash, dye, and card it. At that time, the maternal aunt bhikṣuṇī had dyed hands from dyeing wool; she went to the Buddha's place, bowed at his feet, and stood there. The Buddha asked although he already knew, rebuked them, and laid down the precept.
