佛在拘睒毘。闡陀起房，重覆不止，屋便摧破，居士嫌言：「檀越雖與，受者應知足。」比丘舉過，佛因制戒。

(The Buddha was in Kauśāmbī. Channa built a room and covered it repeatedly without stopping, so that the building collapsed. A householder complained, saying, “Though the donor gives, the recipient should know moderation.” The bhikṣus reported the offense, and the Buddha formulated the precept on this basis.)
