若知他犯麁罪，小食知，食後說；食後知，至初夜說；初夜知，至中夜說——一切吉羅。若中夜知，至後夜欲說而未說，明相出，波逸提。除麁罪，覆餘罪；自覆罪；除比丘尼，覆餘人罪者——一切吉羅。

(If one knows that another has committed a grave offense: if known at the morning meal, and one speaks after the meal; if known after the meal, and one speaks at the first watch of the night; if known at the first watch of the night, and one speaks at the middle watch of the night—all are duṣkṛtas. If known at the middle watch of the night, and coming to the last watch of the night one wishes to speak but has not yet spoken, when the first light of dawn appears, it is a prāyaścittika. Apart from grave offenses, concealing other offenses; concealing one's own offenses; apart from bhikṣuṇīs, concealing the offenses of other persons—all are duṣkṛtas.)
