佛在舍衛。阿梨吒惡見生，言：「我知佛說行婬欲不障道。」比丘諫喻，而猶不捨，白佛。問自言已，令僧白四諫之，便訶而制戒。

(The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. Ariṣṭa gave rise to an evil view, saying: "I know that the Buddha taught that engaging in sexual desire does not obstruct the Path." The bhikṣus admonished and reasoned with him, yet he still would not abandon it, so they reported it to the Buddha. After questioning him and having him state his position, [the Buddha] instructed the Saṃgha to admonish him by a formal motion with three announcements (jñapti-caturtha-karman), and then rebuked him and formulated the precept.)
