佛在舍衛。跋難陀二沙彌共行不淨，自謂：「從佛聞法：行婬欲非障道。」比丘舉過，佛令白四設諫，不捨，滅擯。六群誘將畜養。比丘舉過，佛訶，因制戒。

(The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. Two śrāmaṇeras of Upananda engaged in impurity together, claiming for themselves: "We have heard the Dharma from the Buddha: engaging in sexual desire is not an obstacle to the Path." The bhikṣus raised the fault, and the Buddha ordered that an admonition be delivered with a formal motion with three announcements; when they would not abandon it, they were completely expelled. The group of six enticed them and kept them. The bhikṣus raised the fault, and the Buddha rebuked them, formulating the precept accordingly.)
