2.89

佛在曠野城，集僧告言：有一比丘修治屋舍而自斫樹，非沙門法。訶責制戒。

The Buddha was in the city of Aṭavī. He assembled the Saṃgha and told them: "There was a bhikṣu who was repairing a house and chopped down a tree himself; this is not the Dharma of a śramaṇa." Having rebuked him, he laid down the precept.
