佛在舍衛。六群高聲大喚入白衣舍，居士譏言：「如婆羅門，不知慚愧，無有正法。」比丘舉過，佛因訶制。
The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. The group of six entered a layperson's house calling out loudly. Householders criticised them, saying, 'Like brahmins, shameless and without true Dharma!' The bhikṣus reported this fault, and the Buddha thereupon reproved them and instituted the rule:
