佛在舍衛。居士設供，六群大噏食。居士嫌言：「無有慚愧！食如猪、狗、駱駝、牛、驢、烏鳥。」比丘白佛，因訶制戒。

The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. A householder provided an offering, and the group of six slurped loudly when eating. The householder reproached them, saying: "Shameless! They eat like pigs, dogs, camels, cattle, donkeys, and crows." The bhikṣus reported to the Buddha, and he thereupon rebuked them and instituted the rule.
