佛在舍衛。六群擔屍從塔下過，護塔神瞋。樂學戒者以過白佛，因訶而制。

The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. The group of six carried a corpse past beneath a stupa, and the spirit guarding the stupa was angered. Those who took pleasure in training in the precepts reported this fault to the Buddha, who thereupon rebuked them and instituted the precept.
