佛在舍衛。六群持死人衣及床從塔下過，住處神瞋。行頭陀者以過白佛，因訶制戒。

The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. The group of six carried a dead person's robes and bed past beneath a stupa, and the spirit of the dwelling was angered. Those who practiced dhūta reported this fault to the Buddha, who thereupon rebuked them and instituted the precept.
