Whether traveling on the road or at a dwelling place, if he obtains sheep's wool and needs it, he should take it; if there is no one to carry it, he may carry it himself up to three yojanas. If there is someone, he should say to him: 'I have this item; assist me in carrying it as far as that place.' In the meantime, the bhikṣu must not assist him; if he carries it, it is a duṣkṛta. If he causes a bhikṣuṇī or any of the four assemblies to carry it past three yojanas, it is a duṣkṛta. Aside from sheep's wool, carrying other cloth or hemp, etc., is a duṣkṛta. Carrying other items on the end of a staff is a duṣkṛta.
