If he does not apply one of the three colors and wears it, it is a prāyaścittika. If he wears heavy or light robes without dotting them for purification, it is a duṣkṛta. In the case of non-robe items—bowl bags, shoe bags, needle-and-thread cases, meditation belts, waistbands, caps, socks, sweat cloths, or shoe-wrapping cloths—if he keeps them without purifying them, it is a duṣkṛta. If he deposits undyed robes at the house of a layperson, it is a duṣkṛta. There is no offence if, upon obtaining white cloth, one dyes it with the three colors, and makes the remaining light and heavy items, down to cloths, purified before keeping them.
