If a bhikṣu speaks thus: "I know the Dharma taught by the Buddha: engaging in sexual desire is not an obstructive dharma"; the [other] bhikṣus should admonish this bhikṣu, saying: "Venerable sir! Do not speak thus; do not slander the Bhagavat. Slandering the Bhagavat is unwholesome. The Bhagavat did not speak thus. The Bhagavat used countless skillful means to teach that committing sexual desire is an obstructive dharma." When those bhikṣus admonish this bhikṣu, if he stubbornly persists and does not abandon it, those bhikṣus should admonish him up to three times in order to make him abandon this matter. If, after being admonished two or three times, he abandons it, that is good; if he does not abandon it, it is a prāyaścittika.
