At that time, the mother Viśākhā took off her jeweled garment and listened to the Dharma in the Buddha's presence; absorbed in the Dharma, she forgot her garment. The bhikṣus reported this to the Buddha, who permitted them to pick it up so that it would not be lost and would be kept secure.
