四十九、生草上者，《祇》云「夏月生草並茂無空缺處，當在駱駝牛馬等行處。若無，當瓦石上。若無，當乾草上。」
Rule forty-nine, upon living grass: the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya says: "During the summer months, living grass flourishes everywhere with no empty spaces; one should [urinate or defecate] where camels, cattle, and horses walk. If there are none, on tiles or stones. If there are none, on dry grass."
