The third is the precept on coarse speech. Speaking words of sexual desire to a woman with a defiled mind to seek one's own gratification incurs a saṃghāvaśeṣa. If one preaches the Dharma with a pure mind, rebukes the faults of sensual desire, and so forth, there is no transgression. A woman must be sentient and not yet deceased, unlike in the previous precept. In the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya, if a woman speaks coarse words to a monk and he accepts them with a defiled mind, he also commits a transgression.
