（戒法理通，義該道俗，以五戒有犯，則具戒成難。故須條貫始終，體相明練，七眾所受，次如下列。）

(The principle of the precepts applies universally, its meaning encompassing both monastics and laity; because if the five precepts are violated, the upasampadā faces obstacles. Therefore, the progression from beginning to end must be systematically organized, and their essence and marks clearly mastered; their reception by the seven classes of disciples is listed in order below.)
