（佛言：「當觀察此人。若不堪教授，復不以二事攝取：一者法，二者衣食。當語言：『大德止！勿度人。』若有智慧，堪能教授，又以二事攝者，應與羯磨。」作是白言：）

(The Buddha said: "One should observe this person. If he is not capable of instructing, and furthermore cannot support them with the two things—first, the Dharma; second, robes and food—one should say to him: 'Bhadanta, stop! Do not ordain others.' If he has wisdom, is capable of instructing, and can support them with the two things, one should grant him the karman." One makes the jñapti as follows:)
