（《善見》云：「阿闍梨告言：『汝隨我語，教汝授三歸。』答言：『爾！』」又應問遮難，發戒緣起，准如經律。例須具問，方乃授云：）

(The Samantapāsādikā states: "The ācārya says: 'Repeat my words; I shall teach you to receive the three refuges.' He answers: 'Yes!'" Also, one should ask about the obstructions and impediments and explain the causes and conditions for generating the precepts, in accordance with the sūtras and vinaya. One must uniformly question him thoroughly, and only then confer them, saying:)
